THE THREE DECUMANI OF NAPLES
The three decumani, dating back to the foundation of the Greek Neapolis (470 BC), constituted
the backbone of the city. Integrated into urban planning during the Roman era, over the centuries
enriched with religious buildings and noble palaces.
Crossing the city in parallel from east to west, they are connected to each other by cardoons,
perpendicular streets that formed an urban grid. In one of them (today’s Sia San
Paolo) is located COR URBIS.
